DSU Receives National Ranking for Distance Education Master's Degrees Dakota State University has been named to the Top 20 Ranked Best Buys Online Computer Science Degrees by GetEducated.com. GetEducated.com is an online counseling center for adult learners seeking accredited online degrees. The nationwide survey, the only of its kind, identified several trends in online degree pricing that directly impacts consumers as they go online to earn master’s degrees. GetEducated.com surveyed accredited distance-learning master’s degree programs to determine the average cost a student might expect to pay for an online master’s degree in the computer technology area. Dakota State ranked 5th, behind East Carolina University, Columbus State University, North Carolina State University and the University of Illinois Springfield. Other universities on the list included Colorado State University, the University of Maryland, Virginia Polytechnic University and California State University in Chico. The full list can be found at www.geteducated.com. GetEducated CEO and chief analyst Vicky Phillips was quoted as saying, “eight of the top ten Best Buys came from publicly funded universities. Many publicly funded universities in the South and Midwest are beginning to offer their degree programs online for one flat fee. This means that prospective students nationwide can begin enjoying low public college tuition rates that were once available only to the residents of selected states.” A Best Buy designation from GetEducated.com indicates that DSU’s
online master’s programs have been found to offer a high quality
degree to a national audience at tuition rates well below the national
average. The national tuition average for regionally accredited distance
master’s degree is $18,395. Fifth ranked Dakota State University’s
degree tuition is at $6,857.
